How to copy/paste and save formatting

 

Windows copy/paste is a valuable tool that we make great use of. It also has a caveat: not all programs behave well with it, as the example below illustrates:

 

Copying from an Outlook text formatted e-mail note into a do-list record works fine, as you can see here:

 

 

 

 

 

Now here is an example of copy/paste from RoboHelp into a do-list record

 

 

The problem: a bunch of blank lines we inserted, necessitating follow-up to clean up these lines every time. can be annoying and it makes a tedious process more so.

 

Lesson: not all programs feed copy/paste correctly, so test before committing to a system that depends on copy/paste.
