How to add an H2OS command

The basic H2OS Commands library is distributed and installed with H2OS. Thereafter it's maintained (new commands are added) using the Downloads page.

 

The H2OS Commands library can be customized by adding, removing and changing existing commands.

 

[Note: because you can make changes to these commands, H2OS maintenance will not replace installed commands (it will only add new commands)]

 

From time to time, we create and distribute new commands via the COMMANDS, H2OS option on the DOWNLOADS page.

 

Documentation available for commands includes:

 

1. The command name

2. A tooltip value for the command

3. A shorthelp (?) screen

4. A topic in the Customer Guide

 

 

To add a new command to your Command buttons

 

 

  1. Right click anywhere in the command buttons area of the main screen and select "Customize Command Buttons"



     

  2. On the Commands Library screen that will appear, click the ADD button




     

  3. A screen like this will appear:





     

  4. Complete these fields

    - the command name (must be a unique name)
    - the tooltip (descriptive comments about the command that will appear when the operator's mouse is hovered over the command button)
    - the software instructions to be executed when the command is clicked.
    - author and operator comments


    For example, the QB command was added using this data:




     

  5. Click CLOSE
     

  6. You will be returned to the customize commands screen. The new command will now be listed in the commands grid below. It should be in the currently selected row.
     

  7. Now that this command has been added to your commands library you can add it to your visible command buttons on the H2OS main screen by using your mouse to drag/drop the command name (in the Command column) into an empty cell in the "Your Command Buttons" display above (which corresponds to the location of the command in your main screen you wish for the command to appear in). If a command button 'cell' is already occupied, it will be replaced.





     

  8. Click CLOSE
     

  9. The newly setup command (QB) now appears in the command list

 

 

 

Changing a command name

If you wish to change a command name, you may do so by over-typing the Command Name in 1st column of the List Maintenance Commands screen (see above).
